Atlanta Film Festival (March)

Sweetwater 420 Festival(April)

This annual event, presented by SweetWater Brewing Company, features live musical acts, a stand-up comedy tent, local artist market, Planet 420 non-profit village, a KidZone, SweetWater craft beer experience, food trucks and more.

 

Atlanta Food and Wine Festival (May)

Enjoy an entire weekend dedicated to Southern cuisine with food and wine tastings and cooking classes.

 

Atlanta Jazz Festival (May)

Located in Piedmont Park, this is one of the country's largest free jazz festivals. Enjoy local and national Jazz greats.

 

Shaky Knees & Shaky Beats Festival (May)

Dragon Con (September)

Meet Klingons and a few Stormtroopers at Dragon Con, the nation's largest multi-media, multi-genre pop culture convention.

 

Atlanta Arts Festival (September/October)

The annual Atlanta Arts Festival is a two-day outdoor event. Set in historic Piedmont Park, this is one of the most popular festivals in Atlanta.

 

Taste of Atlanta (September/October)

Atlanta's best chefs join forces for the tastiest celebration of the year. This can't-miss festival of flavors features a hands-on introduction to the city's sustainable dining movement, celebrity chef demos and delicious dishes from more than 80 local restaurants.

 

Music Midtown (September)

Join in the fun as Piedmont Park hosts nationally renowned musicians in Atlanta's most scenic concert venue.

 

Atlanta Pride Festival and Parade (October)

Support and celebrate the city's alternative lifestyle community at the Atlanta Pride Festival and Parade. Two days fill Piedmont Park with live entertainment, a Pride Market for local LGBT crafters, plus restaurant and bar promotions.

Summer Events

Atlanta Ice Cream Festival (June/July)

Peachtree Road Race (July)

This annual 4th of July tradition is the largest 10K in the world and one of the most well-known Atlanta, events.

 

Chick-fil-a Kickoff Game (August/September)

The Chick-fil-A Kickoff Games, held at the Georgia Dome, are recognized as the official beginning of the college football season.

Winter Events

SEC Football Championship (December)

The SEC's Eastern and Western Division winners will meet at the Georgia Dome to battle for the league championship and the right to represent the conference in the College Football Playoff.

 

Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl Game (December)

The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl is one of the most exciting college bowl games, as part of the College Football Playoff. Thousands flock to the Georgia Dome to take part in this exciting sporting event.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration (February)

A festive week to celebrate the birthday and contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Events include the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's annual tribute, "A King Celebration," and the MLK March & Rally in the Sweet Auburn District. Other events include the Salute to Greatness Awards banquet, which honors individuals committed to MLK's ideals, a Commemorative Service at Ebenezer Baptist Church, as well as exhibits and concerts throughout the city.
