California Lutheran University

California Lutheran University is an institution offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in the liberal arts and sciences and professional fields. Mentored by dedicated and accomplished faculty members, students pursue their passion and discover their purpose as they seek to grow as individuals. California Lutheran College was founded in 1959 on a ranch donated by Richard Pederson, the son of Norwegian immigrants. The college opened its doors to 330 students in September 1961 and today has enrollment of 4,100 students. The 225-acre campus is located between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, nestled against the hills in Thousand Oaks, just nine miles inland from Malibu and easily accessible from the Ventura 101 Freeway.

Thousand Oaks Civic Center

The Bank of America Performing Arts Center at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza is one of the largest performing arts centers between Los Angeles and San Francisco, and is funded through a unique public/private partnership between the City of Thousand Oaks and the Alliance for the Arts.

The Bank of America Performing Arts Center consists of the 1,800-seat Fred Kavli Theatre for the Performing Arts and the 394-seat Janet and Ray Scherr Forum Theatre, which combine outstanding arts and entertainment with state-of-the-art technology and acoustics. Over 300,000 patrons and 50,000 children attend more than 400 performances annually.

Gardens of the World

The founders of Pleasant Holidays, Ed and Lynn Hogan, created the Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks. Their desire was to share with others, their experiences and the beauty they have seen during their travels around the world. This 4.5-acre garden is open to the public and is a striking monument to commemorate the various cultures of the world. The gardens include Italian, French, Japanese and English gardens as well as the Mission Courtyard. In the center of the gardens is the American Bandstand where concerts are held.
