Discovery Cube Orange County

Looking for something fun and educational for your family to do during your stay in Irvine? Visit Discovery Cube Orange County, the Santa Ana science museum that offers a growing number of hands on science exhibits, signature events, and educational programs. The Cube recently completed a 44,000 square-foot expansion and has become a landmark of southern California, visually recognized by the center's 10-story solar-panel cube perched over Interstate 5.

Orange County Fair & Event Center

With year-long events and flexible activity facilities, the Orange County Fair and Event Center is much more than just the home of the OC Fair! Remembered by locals as the former Santa Ana Army Air Base, the OC Fairgrounds and Event Center offers over 150 events per year to the local public. Visitors can enjoy live-music concerts at the Pacific Amphitheatre or The Hangar and live action entertainment at the Action Sports Arena. Aside from the annual OC Fair which features 5ks, competitions, beer and wine tastings and the best fair food around, the fairgrounds also house the Orange County Market Place and the Orange County Fair/Equestrian Center.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts

Located in the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, The Segerstrom Center for the Arts, is a performing arts multiplex boasting two concert halls, two theatres and an outdoor plaza. The Segerstrom Center hosts and produces multiple events through the year which include musicals, dance performances, plays, concerts and free movie screenings of popular films that are open to the public on the Arts Plaza. Three Orange County music companies, The Pacific Symphony, The Philharmonic Society of Orange County and The Pacific Chorale, call the center home during the performance seasons.

Orange County Zoo

The Orange County Zoo is a small 8-acre zoo located within the Irvine Park, that mainly houses animals and plants native to the Southwestern United States. The zoo hosts many educational programs including tours and a barnyard petting zoo that features domestic farm animals like goats, sheep and pigs.

The Orange County Great Park, is an award-wining master plan for the soon-to-be first major metro park of the new century. Twice the size of Central Park in New York City, the Orange County Great Park, will include numerous recreational activities and newly developed attractions such as, a weekly farmers market, the Great Park Balloon, the Great Park Carousel, an arts complex and a sports and fitness complex.
