Our event venues,  just short distance from Dupont Circle, still retains the historic charm you would expect from one of downtown D.C.'s most elegant hotels.

New for 2018, The Mayflower Hotel is offering groups who book 200-400 guestrooms, per peak night, exclusive access to all of the hotel's prime ballrooms on the Promenade level.

"Where Meetings Make History" - Restored and Refreshed

Situated just steps from D.C.'s vibrant Dupont Circle district, The Mayflower Hotel, Autograph Collection has been at the heart of downtown D.C.'s social epicenter for nearly 100 years. Its historic ballroom venue space and magnificent lobby promenade have served as the stage for many iconic events. In keeping with the hotel's legacy of hosting legendary meetings and social events, including every presidential inaugural ball from Calvin Coolidge to Ronald Reagan, our hotel has created a variety of presidential-themed meeting breaks, inspired from menus served during those past visits:

The Reagan Jelly Bean Break - President Ronald Reagan was known for his love of jelly beans, and personally thanked the hotel associate who served these colorful candies to all invited guests at his 1981 Inaugural Gala in the Grand Ballroom venue.

The Churchill High Tea Break - In 1945, Winston Churchill sipped on his favorite Lapsang Souchong tea when he infamously made an off-color joke, which was carried by the acoustical domed ceiling of the hotel's Chinese Ballroom space, much to the surprise of host Franklin D. Roosevelt and his guests.

The Eisenhower Surf & Turf Break - President Dwight Eisenhower enjoyed his last event at The Mayflower in 1960, where his guests enjoyed lobster, filet mignon and asparagus tips (inspiring this meeting break's afternoon tea-style sandwiches).

The Banana Nut Bread Break - Presidents Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan were all served The Mayflower's famous banana nut bread during their Inaugural Galas at the hotel. Over half a century later, since the introduction of the banana nut bread, The Mayflower bakes over 10, 000 loaves per year, much to the delight of repeat guests to our hotel here in downtown D.C.

Grand Ballroom

Whether you're hosting a large-scale gala or a corporate retreat near Dupont Circle in downtown D.C., our newly restored Grand Ballroom venue, with its unique wrap-around balcony, can meet your requirements with space for up to 1,000 event guests.

State & East Ballrooms

The State and East ballrooms combine to offer an ideal venue near Dupont Circle. 14-foot windows cast natural light across the room's 8, 000 square feet of space, making it well suited to event meals and breaks.

Chinese Room

Welcome your event attendees in the elegantly designed Chinese Room. Over 2, 700 square feet of refreshed space surrounds guests with fine details, featuring a dramatic elliptical dome, adorned with a tiered crystal chandelier.

Palm Court

With over 2, 900 square feet of event space illuminated by the glass dome ceiling, this spectacular venue accommodates 170 in a schoolroom setting.

Promenade Foyer

The picturesque corridor of our hotel leads to the elegant ballroom venues. The Promenade Foyer is ideal for group registrations, meeting breaks and receptions here in downtown D.C.

District Ballroom

Host elegant Dupont Circle receptions and corporate events in our District Ballroom, which offers 4, 352 square feet of space, inspiring décor and seating for up to 320 guests.

 

Mezzanine

The spacious Mezzanine terrace offers additional space for breakouts and receptions; this venue overlooks the hotel's lobby and scenic Promenade, surrounded by archives of hotel history.

 

Massachusetts Room

With natural lighting and over 800 square feet of redesigned space, the Massachusetts Room is a perfect venue for meetings of up to 48 attendees in a schoolroom setup, or 75 arranged in theater seating.
