FRESHFARM by the White House Market is a lunchtime market featuring an array of freshly prepared meals and snacks made from local ingredients: wood-fired pizza, Indian food, handmade tamales, seafood and veggie po'boys, BBQ sandwiches, Chinese dumplings, handcrafted empanadas, soups and salad, kettle corn, cold-pressed juices and more. Also, get local fruits and vegetables, mushrooms, grass-fed beef, pastured eggs, honey, sweet and savory baked goods, crab cakes and locally roasted coffee. Open Thursdays - 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., April through November 

Tour de Jose - Take a dining tour of Zaytinya, Jaleo, Oyamel and China Chilcano. Tours are held on a limited basis Sunday through Thursday for parties up to six. 

Smithsonian Folklife Festival - this two festival takes place on the National Mall over two weeks each summer, close to the July 4th holiday, and focuses on the cultural traditions from around the world.
