The Lakewood Club

Course Overview

You'll feel the rich history of Point Clear, Alabama on the breeze, as you play beneath 200-year-old oaks down a carpet of green and past crystal clear lakes and streams.

Course Beginnings

The exclusive club had its beginnings in 1944 when Perry Maxwell, designer of the Tulsa Southern Hills Country Club and site of the 2001 U.S. Open, brought his extraordinary skills to bear at Lakewood. His creations, the Dogwood and Azalea courses, opened in 1947 and were the first professional quality courses in the area.

Azalea Course

This 72-par course ranges from 4,436 to 7,104 yards. The entire Lakewood Club is steeped in rich history and tradition that you'll feel at every turn on the Azalea course.
